ACAPULCO ARTIFACT ~ WHAT IS IT????
I found this artifact back in the 1960's while scuba diving in Acapulco Bay.

LEFT: Sketch of artifact..........On what I presume is the front of the artifact in the banner section it looks like the numbers 51.00 Below that is what appears to be the letter D. There are other markings which may be letters or numbers but I can't make them out clearly even with using a magnifying glass. The artifact is 1 1/2 inches in diameter & about 1/4 inch thick & if our home postal scale is correct it weighs .2 ounces. Someone at the dive school told me it was from a Spanish Galleon wreck.

I found it back in the 1960's in Acapulco Bay while scuba diving in maybe 15 to 25 feet of water on I believe the north side of the bay. It was all in one piece when I found it but accidentally got broken into two pieces when I was climbing back on the dive boat. The inside is white in color. I don't know what kind of metal it might be or even if it is metal. I wouldn't think metal would break like that & would probably weigh more than .2 oz. I haven't taken it to a lab or anywhere for analysis as I've been afraid to let it out of my possession for fear it might be lost or damaged.
