Regarding Rev. John W. Green:I received
this photo from someone at the First Baptist Church in
Desloge, MO. The church was formerly known as Ortenville Baptist Church.
John W. Green was pastor there for ten years in the 1880s. The photo was in a
brochure that was printed during the 1970s, to commemorate the church's
history. The text mentions that John W. Green helped build the church. I
believe the story means that he actually helped erect the building. He was a
carpenter by trade, in addition to being a Baptist minister. Since I received this
photo, I've discovered that many other cousins have copies of it.Patricia |
