Sadie is the new dog of cousins Donna & John Haynie of Slater, Missouri.  They couldn't decide what to name her & when they saw the picture of another dog named Sadie on Carroll's Critters they liked the name so much they decided to name their dog Sadie too.

Sonny-on-back.JPG (16962 bytes)This is our latest kid!  [named Sonny]We've just had him two days.  Vet says he is about eight to ten weeks old.  We found him on the gravel road down from our house.  He hid in the ditch when we approached him, it was about 10 degrees, had been zero previous night.  We called all around the area, vets, dog pound etc.  a couple of neighbors said they had seen him around for a couple days (can't believe they just ignored him)  he has really been abused!  very timid, but it is amazing the progress he has made in two days.  I'm sure he was dumped out here from town, a pup like that wouldn't run off, he refuses to go outside now, he showed no affection when we brought him home, just wanted to hide, but now he's kissing me and rolls on his back to get his belly rubbed, and wags his tail, but he just wants to stay in his bed, he's been eating and drinking good, we put a ball in his bed and he chews on it when we're not looking  ha!  he's so timid he doesn't want to eat or anything when we're in his presence, just hangs his head, although today he did eat with us there, it's going to take a while for him to come out of his shell.  I'd like to get my hands on the bastards that did this to him!  anyway he's safe now, we'll keep you updated on his progress.....John - Jan. 2005

18 September 2006 ~ This is our new Kitty!  She came to us a couple days ago in the middle of a thunder storm, about 3 or 4 a.m.  we had the windows open or we wouldn't have heard her, she just kept meowing, Donna finally got up and went out to check!  She found her out by the shed, hung up in some old scrap iron, she freed her, and the next morning she was just a few feet away in the soy beans meowing, Donna took some food out to her, she was wolfing the food down and trying to meow and purr at the same time, it sounded funny!  ha!

We fixed a place in the shed for her, bedding, toys, food, water etc.  She is adorable, looks to be about 8 to 12 wks old, she loves it in the shed, we will introduce her to the dogs slowly this next week, and eventually take her to the house, we haven't named her yet, maybe "Annie" (orphan) or "Stormy" because she arrived in the middle of a storm  Ha!  Anyway we'll keep you posted on her progress!  John & Donna

2 October 2006 ~  She is doing great!   We named her Annie.  She's a wonderful little kitty, she is so full of it  ha!  never stops playing, her and the dogs and copy cat get along great, although I think she's kinda fast for them  ha!  she really zips around, she's such a happy kitty always purring.
