The results are finally in for the Missouri Forestkeepers 2006 second annual hunt for strange & extraordinary trees.  Two tree photos from Washington County, Missouri are featured among 19 entries on the Missouri Forestkeepers web site.

The pictures of the unusual Washington County trees were taken & submitted by Esther M. Ziock Carroll of Potosi.  The first photo is of an unusual tree trunk taken near Hazel Creek Campground which the Forestkeepers dubbed, "Help Me!  I'm melting......"  The second photo is of a large tree trunk which partially grew around a tombstone at the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia.  This picture was dubbed, " The grandaddy of all memorial trees."
