Article in a Washington County Newspaper:

November 21, 1935, JESSE WILSON of Shirley was in Potosi on Saturday and looks like a man of 70 instead of 92 and says he is feeling fine.  Mr. Wilson was on Sherman's March to the Sea and says he remembers it very well.  June 17, 1937, Morris Adams, Civil War veteran dies at Belgrade after a short illness.   This leaves Jesse Wilson as the last surviving Civil War soldier in Washington County.
