Notes for John W. HOPKINS
May have lived in Adair Co., Kentucky if related to Hopkins living in Montgomery Co. (HE ISN?T), Missouri after 1810. That family migrated to Missouri before 1810. Since his wife, Mary Simms, was born in Kentucky, that is a possibility. Perhaps the family migration path was PA-KY-MO.
Place of birth blank on 1860 census.
19 Pennsylvania on 1850 census.4See notes in Hopkins folder. A St. Francois Co. resident, Lewis Hopkins, described in Goodspeed?s ?History of Southeast Missouri? is said to have come from a family living in Pennsylvania. His father was of Irish descent and a native of Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, born in 1785... The father could be a brother to John W. Hopkins. Additional information on the mother, father?s occupation, and siblings are listed.
