HEINRICH ZIOCK

HEINRICH ZIOCK was born in 13 Aug. 1846 in Friedensfeld, St. Croix in the Virgin Islands.  His parents were Adolph Ziock and Marie Caroline Lindeman.  Heinrich went to Mission School in Bath, England from 1870-72.  In 1876 he married Anna Theodora Vaihinger of Kleinwelka.  They were called to Missionary service on the Mosquito Coast arriving in Greytown January 13th, 1877.  In April, 1879 Heinrich was appointed a Deacon in Bluefields and in September was called from Bluefields to Ephrata.  Anna died in Ephrata in September, 1880 at age 30.  In November of 1881 Heinrich married Louise Therese Hoehne of Kleinwelka.  In 1882 Heinrich was appointed to service in an orphanage in Kukalaya, in 1888 posted to Karata, in 1890 posted to Twappi.  In 1895 he took over as representative of the office of Administrator of the Mosquito Mission.   In 1896 he undertook the office as Administrator as successor to Brother Berkenhagen.  In 1903, because of illness, Heinrich was sent back to Europe and arrived in Niesky on May 2nd, 1904.  He died there at age 60 on October 23rd, 1905.
