HERMAN
ADOLPH ZIOCK was born 24 Dec. 1807 in Hattigen, Westfalia,
Germany. He was the son of Elizabeth Arns and
Peter Ziock. In
1835 Herman was accepted into the Association in Neuwied (Moravian
Church). In 1838 he was was appointed the rank of Acolyte in
Neuwied, he was married to Marie Caroline Lindemann and was called
to missionary service in the Danish West Indies. In 1841 he was
ordained a Deacon in Friedensfeld, St. Croix. From 1838 - 1866 He
held positions in Bethanien, St. Jan; Friedensfel, St. Croix; New
Herrnhut, St. Thomas; Friedensfeld & Friedensberg in St. Croix; and
Emmaus, St. Jan. He retired, returned to Germany to Kleinwelka.
Hermann died in Herrnhut in 1872 at age 65.

New Hernhut, with a large
commodious dwelling, church, & out buildings, under the charge
of the Rev. A.H. Ziock & wife, has two hundred & sixty-two
communicants, with a congregation of eight hundred & fifty nine
persons.
